Do I need any previous painting experience?
Not at all! Our sessions are designed for absolute beginners. We'll guide you step-by-step through the palette knife technique.
What exactly is palette knife painting?
It's a technique using a tool (like a small spatula) to apply paint. It creates a beautiful, textured look—like spreading frosting on a cake!
What should I wear?
We provide aprons, but acrylic paint is permanent once dry. Wear comfortable clothes you wouldn't mind getting a tiny bit of paint on, just in case.
Can I book a private event for a birthday or team-building?
Definitely! We offer private bookings. We can come to your home, office, or a venue of your choice.
What is your cancellation policy for events?
We understand plans change. Cancellations made 48 hours in advance are eligible for a refund.
Is there a minimum group size for a SQWRIFY "Place" event?
To ensure a vibrant, collaborative atmosphere, we require a minimum of 8 participants per session. If a class doesn't meet this requirement, we’ll notify you 48 hours in advance to reschedule your spot or provide a full refund.

How do I start the process?
There are two ways to begin:
- Direct Order: Select your preferred medium and size from the Portraits Shop and checkout immediately. I will contact you via email for your reference photos.
- Inquiry Form: If you have a specific vision or a complex request, fill out the form here. We will discuss the details together before you make a payment.
What makes a good reference photo?
High-resolution photos taken in natural light work best. The more detail I can see in the eyes and features, the more life-like your portrait will be. Please avoid: photos with heavy filters, extreme shadows, or blurry details.
How long will it take to finish my painting?
I typically complete a portrait in 2–3 weeks. This can vary depending on my current waitlist. If you need it by a specific date (e.g., a birthday or anniversary), please mention it during checkout or in your inquiry.
What is the difference between Acrylic and Pastel?
- Acrylic: Painted on gallery-wrapped canvas with professional-grade, lightfast paints. It is durable, has a modern textured look, and is ready to hang without a frame.
- Pastel: Created with high-quality pigments on archival paper, offering a soft, classic glow. Pastels are delicate "live" powders; therefore, your portrait arrives in a complimentary frame with a spacer to protect the surface.
Can I see the progress?
Absolutely. I want you to be part of the journey! I typically send a preliminary sketch for your approval and one "work-in-progress" update before the final reveal.
What if I want to make changes?
We include one round of minor revisions during the sketching or early painting phase to ensure the likeness is perfect. Once the painting is nearing completion, major changes (such as changing the pose or background) will incur additional charges.

How long will it take for my order to arrive?
Local orders within the UAE typically arrive in 3–5 business days. International shipping varies by destination but usually takes 7–14 business days.
While we aim for precision, please note that delays may occasionally occur due to unforeseen circumstances or customs processing or international transit schedules.
What is your return policy?
We want you to love your art! If an item arrives damaged, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery with photos of the packaging and product. Due to the nature of original artwork, we generally do not offer returns for change of mind.
Is the artwork ready to hang, and what are the edges like?
Yes, all paintings are created on professional-grade canvas with "gallery-wrapped" edges. The painting continues around the sides, so it looks finished from every angle. Your artwork arrives ready to hang.

Do you ship worldwide?
Yes, we ship the SQWRIFY experience globally. Please note that shipping costs, customs fees, and import taxes are the responsibility of the client and vary by destination.
